James A. Horning, O.D.
About Dr. Horning
Dr. Horning says he has always found the science of visual development extremely fascinating. He finds it particularly rewarding to be able to change people’s lives by helping them to improve their visual development.
When he is not treating patients in the office, Dr. Horning enjoys spending time with his family and focusing on his faith. He especially enjoys reading historical fiction, and stays active through paddle boarding and playing pickle ball.

Kaitlin Brown, O.D.
About Dr. Brown
Dr. Brown always had a desire for a career in medicine, and the field of optometry allows her to provide primary eye care services to her patients while also maintaining a good work-life balance. She believes eyesight is one of our most important senses, and she’s thankful to be able to help improve the vision of so many people.
In her free time away from the office, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with her family. Her other interests include trip planning, attending musical theatre, and experiencing new restaurants.

Sierra Mattox, O.D.
About Dr. Mattox
Sierra Mattox, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in 2022, and completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and Psychology at the University of North Florida. Her special fields of interest include scleral contact lenses and rigid gas permeable contact lenses.
Dr. Mattox appreciates the opportunity she has to help patients experience their best vision possible so they can see their best, live their best lives, and be the best they can be.
When not treating patients, Dr. Mattox loves spending time with her family and friends, and her hobbies include painting and running.
Dr. Vijay Nair O.D.
About Dr. Nair
Dr. Nair says that, as an optometrist, he enjoys being able to make a difference in the lives of his patients on a daily basis by offering help immediately with prescribing glasses or contacts, as well as helping patients long-term through the detection and treatment of serious eye conditions.
Practicing optometry since 1999, Dr. Nair’s favorite part of being an optometrist is seeing his younger patients grow up right in front of his eyes as they become adults and build their own families. On numerous occasions, he has also had the privilege of saving patients’ lives by detecting life-threatening conditions, such as tumors and other systemic diseases.
When he is away from the office, Dr. Nair loves spending time with his wife, their three children, and their church community. He enjoys fishing, and especially enjoys traveling to new places. He has also been involved with humanitarian eye care missions in Honduras, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Kenya, and other local areas in great need.
Dr. Richard A. Greene, O.D.
About Dr. Greene
Dr. Greene began practicing optometry in 1981 in Jacksonville, Florida, then moved to St. Augustine a year later to start a solo private practice career. He considers it a tremendous opportunity to provide vision care to his patients, which can enhance their quality of life. He feels proud to play a vital part in helping people with their visual needs by providing them with valuable eye health education and treatment.
Dr. Greene enjoys participating in civic organizations, including The St. Augustine Jaycees, of which he became president, Civitan International, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Sertoma Club. He has also been active in the American Optometric Association, the Southern Council of Optometrists, the Florida Optometric Association, and the Northeast Florida Optometric Society, where he participated on the Board and served as its president.
When Dr. Greene is not treating patients, he enjoys boating and fishing, taking his two golden retrievers on long beach walks, playing the keyboard in a classic rock band, and traveling.

Dr. Paul Fulghum, O.D.
About Dr. Fulghum
Paul Fulghum, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in 1983 and completed his undergraduate pre-med studies at Valdosta State University graduating in 1976. He is a board-certified optometric physician who has been practicing optometry since 1983 and whose special fields of interest include primary eye care and the management of ocular disease.
Dr. Fulghum grew up in a medically oriented family with a father who was a flight surgeon in the Navy and a mother who was an x-ray technician. After experiencing a traumatizing event in the fourth grade, his interest was piqued by the psychosomatic correlation between vision loss and stress.
From a young age, Dr. Fulghum has felt that it is his God-given gift and calling to practice optometry. He especially enjoys being able to help people live their lives to the fullest by preserving and restoring vision to those in need.
When Dr. Fulghum is not treating patients, he enjoys trying new restaurants and traveling with his lovely wife, Lynette, to whom he has been married since 1977. He is also an avid boater, fisherman, water skier, and golfer. He also takes advantage of any opportunity to visit his daughter, Elizabeth, and spend time watching his two granddaughters grow up.

Dr. Robert Orsillo, O.D.
About Dr. Orsillo
Dr. Orsillo specializes in neuro-optometry and developmental vision. As an optometrist, Dr. Orsillo loves providing care to patients and considers solving their eye care needs the ultimate reward.
In Dr. Orsillo’s free time, he enjoys surfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Steven Shaw, O.D.
About Dr. Shaw
Dr. Shaw and his wife, Dr. Strucko, met in optometry school, married, and became co-founders of EyeCare Center of Ocala. He enjoys working with his patients and looks forward to providing high-quality care in all aspects of optometry.
He loves technology and is always looking for the next best piece of technology to provide even better care to his patients.
Dr. Shaw holds professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the North Central Florida Optometric Society. He is also certified by The Florida Medical Association and the Florida Optometric Association to prescribe oral medication for the treatment of eye disease.
When Dr. Shaw is not in the office treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and enjoying the outdoors.

Dr. Nadia Strucko, O.D.
About Dr. Strucko
Nadia Strucko, O.D. is a Board Certified Optometric Physician and received her Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2009 where she specialized in low vision, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from Towson University. After working in Finance for three years at T. Rowe Price, she chose to return to optometry school to pursue her love of science and medicine.
Dr. Strucko is a co-founder with her husband, Dr. Steven Shaw, of Shaw Eye Care Associates which became EyeCare Center of Ocala. She specializes in primary eye care, diagnosing and managing ocular disease, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She also fits specialty contact lenses including rigid gas permeables.
Dr. Strucko holds professional affiliations with the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and North Central Florida Optometric Society. She is also certified by The Florida Medical Association and Florida Optometric Association to prescribe oral medication for the treatment of eye disease.

Dr. Michelle Cevallos, O.D.
About Dr. Cevallos
Dr. Cevallos specializes in dry eye/ocular surface management, specialty contact lens fittings, ocular disease management and treatment, and pre/post-operative LASIK management. Throughout her career, Dr. Cevallos has trained and worked alongside leaders in the fields of cornea, LASIK, and general ophthalmology.
Dr. Cevallos is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the North Central Florida Optometric Society. She has also participated in service trips to Peru and Trinidad for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), an organization providing comprehensive eye care to impoverished communities. She is also fluent in Spanish.
When Dr. Cevallos is not treating patients, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and camping with her husband, daughter, and son.

Dr. Sean Walton, O.D.
About Dr. Walton
Sean Walton, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2008. In his time there, he distinguished himself and achieved the Dean’s list, was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, and won the National Board of Examiners in Optometry Award (NBEO) for Highest Score for his exceptional performance during board certification. Furthermore, he completed his clinical rotations with Honors at both Aker-Kasten Cataract and Laser Institute at Boca Raton, Florida, and at Liane Downtown Eye Associates in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Walton specializes in primary eye care, ocular disease treatment and management (including glaucoma and macular degeneration), specialty contact lens fittings, pediatric eye care, dry eye care, and urgent eye care services. His interests include exploring natural dietary and nutritional health solutions to better serve his patients’ health needs.
As a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and past secretary of the Hudson County Society of Optometric Physicians, Dr. Walton strives to stay active and current with the ever-changing system of health care management and delivery.
In his spare time away from the office, Dr. Walton enjoys reading (especially historical fiction), playing tennis, and playing music.

Dr. Erin McCabe, O.D.
About Dr. McCabe
Erin McCabe, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry with Honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2008, alongside Dr. Steven Shaw. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and, in 2009, her research culminated in a published peer-reviewed journal article entitled Advancements in Anti-Inflammatory Therapy for Dry Eye Syndrome. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University.
She worked as a personal trainer in the Washington, DC, area for a short time before deciding to pursue optometry. With the help of a book matching her personality type to various careers, the field of optometry turned out to be a great fit. Dr. McCabe enjoys her work very much and highly values getting to know her patients while striving to provide them with the best possible eye care.
Dr. McCabe was awarded fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2014, and she is certified by the Florida Medical Association to prescribe oral medication in the treatment of eye disease. Dr. McCabe has worked extensively in group practices staffing both optometrists and ophthalmologists. Her experience working alongside ophthalmologists of all specialties has afforded her a myriad of opportunities to diagnose and treat ocular disease and co-manage ocular surgeries, specifically cataract, glaucoma, corneal, and refractive procedures.
In her spare time away from the practice, Dr. McCabe enjoys biking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband, who is training to become an ophthalmologist.

Dr. Christopher Castello, O.D.
About Dr. Castello
Christopher Castello, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 1997 and earned his Bachelor of Science from Florida Atlantic University in 1992. He is a Board-Certified Optometric Physician specializing in treating and managing ocular diseases. Dr. Castello also performs routine eye exams, including contact lens fittings.
Dr. Castello was the President of the Palm Beach County Optometric Association from 2006-2007. He also served as an adjunct clinical professor for Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Davie, Florida, for four years.
Dr. Castello always wanted to help people in the medical field somehow. When he first went with his father to an eye doctor appointment because of his poor vision, he realized optometry was the specialty field he was looking for. He says it is a great feeling to help someone see better almost instantly and to develop a relationship with them for a long time. Optometry has been challenging, rewarding, and precisely what he was hoping for in a career.
When Dr. Castello is not seeing patients or working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, traveling, doing woodworking, and playing golf.

Dr. Neil Macali, O.D.
About Dr. Macali
Dr. Macali’s interest in becoming an optometrist came as a result of having a close family member who was also an optometrist. He very much enjoys helping people, and he derives great satisfaction from improving the lives of his patients through better vision and better health. He specializes in hard-to-fit contact lens cases, CRT lenses, dry eye treatment, and glaucoma treatment.
Dr. Macali is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, the Central Florida Optometric Association, and the Winter Garden Rotary Club.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Macali enjoys gardening, horticulture/propagation, reading, music, and playing piano. He also likes to travel and watch movies.

Dr. Catherine Pickering, O.D.
About Dr. Pickering
Dr. Pickering pursued a career in optometry as a result of her grandmother who went blind. Becoming an optometrist gives her the opportunity to help people like her grandmother. She gets particular enjoyment from helping her patients obtain their best vision possible.
When Dr. Pickering is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and playing with their daughter. Several of her hobbies include volunteering, bike riding, baking, and doing crafts.

Dr. Natalia Noble, O.D.
About Dr. Noble
Natalia Noble, O.D. received her Doctor of Optometry in 2014 from Nova Southeastern University, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Vision Science in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Her special fields of interest include specialty contacts and treating ocular disease.
Dr. Noble became an optometrist because it provides her the best opportunity to help diagnose patient conditions as early as possible to preserve and maximize their vision. She especially enjoys interacting with her patients and making a difference in their lives.
When she is not treating patients, Dr. Noble enjoys spending time with her family and experiencing nature. She also has interests in genealogy, music, and practicing yoga.
